Language Technologies for All
Language Technologies (LT) have been incubating in research laboratories during half a century and are now widely spreading through numerous applications in many different areas
This creates a digital divide, and places those languages in danger of digital extinction, if not complete extinction.
Everyone should have the possibility to get access to workable Language Technologies in their native languages, including indigenous languages
Organized in the framework of the International Year of Indigenous Languages (IYIL 2019), the LT4All conference embodies all people and all languages, with a focus on indigenous, native, minority, under-resourced, regional, territorial, non-territorial, stateless and endangered languages and dialects.
Over 2 days, LT4All has brought together language technologies specialists and indigenous speakers from all over the world to explore the relationship between technologies and languages from a scientific, technical, cultural, linguistic, economical and political perspective.
The conference has been organized by the European Language Resources Association (ELRA) and its Special Interest Group on Under-resourced languages (SIGUL), a joint SIG of ELRA and of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA), in partnership with UNESCO.
