Elena Volodina
I am interested in the role of an ELRA Board member for the next period of service.
If elected, I would like to use the authority that ELRA gives to promote work on openness of language resources and all that it entails (pseudonymization, differential privacy & AI, ethics, etc.). Besides, boosting less-represented languages in the different domains of NLP has recently become my mission, and I would love to broaden the impact of that work through the ELRA community. I also see an increasing need to stimulate creation of new multilingual datasets for evaluation of LLMs and – especially – for diagnosis of biases in models. Since the LLMs have become a new state of the art, the quality of resources used for fine-tuning and evaluation has become crucial, and here ELRA plays an increasingly prominent role as a backbone for promoting international standards, raising awareness about new challenges and for community-building.
